What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum Doula is a person who is trained and knowledgeable about newborn care.
She is certified and experienced in teaching and guiding new parents with their infant the first few weeks at home. This certification applies to knowledge and education on postpartum depression and infant development.
What is a Lactation Consultant?
A Lactation Consultant is a person who is trained to teach and assist breastfeeding mothers. I will help you understand the fundamentals of the breastfeeding process.
Breastfeeding is not something that comes naturally, it is something to be explained and understood. I welcome the opportunity to assist breastfeeding mothers, to ensure a productive and safe nurturing relationship with you and your baby. As your Lactation Consultant I will educate you on the way to successfully breastfeed your baby.
What is Live Virtual Lactation Consultation?
Using your own webcam and the FREE
Skype service I can provide you with a face-to-face live video
consultation wherever you are. This is especially helpful to
demonstrate the various nursing positions for breastfeeding
mothers as well as for the handling and burping or feeding of your
baby.
Each virtual consultation includes 90 minutes of face-to-face
video time online and one 15 minute follow-up, either online by
video or by telephone as preferred by the mother.
What is a Labor Doula?
This is a person who is trained and certified to assist new parents with the labor and birth of their baby. She will stay and labor at home with the mom and help her and her husband work through the first stages of labor and continue to help the parents at the hospital and through the birth of their new baby.
